Bio
Arthur is the leader of the Saviors’ troops and a true warrior. Strong as a bear with a mighty axe in one hand and a flagon of ale in the other, Arthur is the one responsible for training the men of the Saviors to fight and defend Aria. He has had a grand life, growing up alongside two loving parents both of whom encouraged his training and saw him become a proud warrior of Thear. He was then recognized by King James and went to fight in the armies of Thear, seeking glory and protecting the innocent. But he was overshadowed by the Knights and they did not need him as much as the Saviors did, so he decided to leave and join with Baron instead and aid him in helping all of Aria where the Knights, the Kings and the Queens could not always be. He was always proud to be a warrior and to fulfil his duty in protecting others, his only regret was not finding a love to make a home with.
Arthur is a massive man with bulging muscles, a shiny bald head, but a magnificent red beard. He should conjure images of the Vikings with a massive two handed axe in his hand, but he is strong enough to swing it with one. He may well be the strongest man in all of Aria and though he is not an Arian, he is highly skilled, resilient and powerful in his own right. He also has a heart of gold and usually inspires cheer and joy in others. He loves all people equally and he will give everything to protect them, especially the young, the old or anyone who cannot readily defend themselves. But nothing gives him such joy as seeing joy in others.
Insights & Inspirations
I already touched on how the Vikings would have influenced my conception of Arthur, his name also drawing from the most impressive of legends, King Arthur himself, is a strong name for a very strong warrior. I must confess however that in determining his nature that I used ‘How to Train your Dragon’ as a reference for someone who can be both strong willed but driven by love. But someone who dedicated his life toward others having missed out on the chance for love gave me powerful empathy for Arthur. I regard him as one of my favorite characters for though he is a powerful man he has a gentle soul and deserves love all the same.
